Government Grants & Incentives
In a government first, first-time buyers may now be eligible for $40,000 in government grants and incentives. With the introduction of the Home Builder grant of $25,000 and the existing First Home Owner grant of $15,000 eligible owner-occupiers can cash in.
Together with these grants the government offers a transfer concession for first home buyers which, if eligible, may reduce transfer duty to Nil.
Other incentives offered by the government to assist first-time buyers include the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme and First Home Super Saver Scheme which were introduced to assist first home buyers in saving for a deposit. Further details on all of these incentives can be viewed below.
